Ida Weakens to Tropical Storm, Florida on Warning
Ida weakened to a tropical storm at it neared the Gulf Coast, as Florida's governor declared a state of emergency.Despite warnings extending more than 200 miles across several states, residents seemed to take the first Atlantic hurricane to target the U.S. this season in stride.Hurricane warnings remained in effect from Pascagoula, Mississippi, east to Indian Pass, Florida. Tropical storm warnings and hurricane watches are in effect across neighboring areas including New Orleans.
